In the quest to protect our bodies, we went back to nature, in the form of minerals. Our all-natural mineral based sunscreen formulas contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide act as a physical barrier, reflecting the sun’s UV rays. Protecting us from the sun while letting our bodies act as a solar panel to reflect the sun’s UV rays. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are the only two common active ingredients tested and proposed safe and effective by the FDA.

Physical sunscreens work like a shield, sitting on the surface of your skin and deflecting the sun’s rays. They contain the active ingredients zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide.

ZINC

Zinc is a very powerful element, it naturally reflects the sun’s dangerous UVA rays. Unfortunately, while it is beautiful, in its natural form it appears white (think those skiers with the white on their noses). It doesn’t blend with anyones skin. So we use a formula containing zinc particles small enough to rub on clear.

IRON OXIDE

Iron oxide has gained popularity as an addition to physical sunscreens for its natural reddish hue, which serves a cosmetic role in improving the “white cast” of zinc and titanium dioxide and easily blends in with skin tones.

Iron oxide can be added to physical sunscreens to increase the absorption and protection against visible light and UVA radiation. When combined with zinc oxide, iron oxide.
